Justin McLuen

My name is Justin McLuen.  I'm affectionately known as Clue by my disc golf brethren.  I've been playing disc golf for about 17 years.  I've been throwing Millennium off and on for years, but really fell in love with the product a few years ago with the inception of the Orion line of discs.  I feel that both the Sirius and Quantum lines are the best options for throwing golf shots.  When most players are just hoping to make it a good ways down a tunnel shot, I know I'm going to make it and I know I can shape a drive anyway I need to and land the disc the way I need to.  This last year I've added the QLS and the QJLS which have been a huge compliment for midrange shots especially with lower ceilings.

I've had a few wins, several doubles wins, but I'm the most proud of playing in 3 USDGC's and cashing in the Player's Cup in 2010 highlighted by a 1st round upset over Phil Arthur.  I've also won several thousand in ace funds at tournaments and leagues and up until last year all were with actual aces and not CTP throws!

My favorite course is Rolling Meadows at Circle R Ranch.  I loved the courses at the San Saba ranch, but sadly they are no longer with us.  Other favorites are Winthrop Gold, Pickard Park in Indianola, Iowa, Middle Park and Westlake in the Quad Cities, and the Gold course at Lemon Lake in Indiana.

I am currently President of the Des Moines Disc Golf Club, the Iowa State Coordinator, and recently headed the foundation of the Iowa Disc Golf Hall of Fame.  Recently I did a segment for a show called Iowa's Simple Pleasures which highlighted a disc golf course in Forest City, IA which you can see here:  http://www.iptv.org/simplepleasures/story.cfm?id=2885&type=story&video=video
