Steve Brinster

We are excited to announce that current USDGC Champion, Steve Brinster, is rejoining the Millennium family.  Steve threw for Millennium earlier in his career and grew accustomed to our molds and plastics.  So much that many of our discs are still in his bag and are an integral part of his consistent championship-caliber performance.  Today, he joins our team again with a relationship that works alongside his primary sponsorship with Innova.

We plan to work with Steve on product development and testing, along with other marketing efforts.  But perhaps the most exciting work with him has already begun.  We have recently started collaborating with Steve to produce a special edition Quantum Sentinel to commemorate his 2013 USDGC win.  While the Q-Sentinel is not a widely popular disc in the Millennium line, it’s perhaps Steve’s most reliable go-to midrange in his bag, and we hope that this special edition run will help bring more visibility to this trustworthy Midrange Fade disc.   Beyond that we feel that Steve brings instant credibility to the quality of our discs and our brand.

While we are extremely impressed with Steve’s win at the USDGC, our desire to bring him back to Millennium far exceeds his performance in competition.  Steve is truly one of the sport’s elite ambassadors.  He has done more for the sport than almost any touring professional.  He has installed a dozen courses throughout the NY/NJ area.  Three of which have been used as National Tour locations, including his home course, Warwick.  Years ago he also started one of the strongest clubs in the Northeast, the Skyland Flying Disc Club.  He acted as the chairman for 10+ years and currently still serves on the Board of Directors.

Though at the very bottom of it all, Steve’s character is what speaks the loudest to us.  He’s professional, influential, a caring father and husband, and a positive role model any disc golfer can look up to.  He aligns with our personal convictions, has tremendous knowledge and respect for our company, and he has a love for disc golf with a proven dedication to its growth.  We couldn’t be more proud to have him represent our brand and this sport.  We are looking forward to big things this season, and beyond.

Michelle's Bio:

When I was 12 years old, I played my first PDGA tournament—the 2004 United States Women’s National Championship—putting with a Millennium Omega putter which was white with purple writing. I enjoyed growing up playing disc golf with my family, and as my game improved, I thought, maybe someday I’ll get good enough to turn pro and be sponsored by Millennium. Sometimes weird childhood dreams come true. :)

It took a while, though, as I have always been busy as a student. While in undergrad, I won the 2012 Amateur World Championships, but it was not until I started grad school that I found the time to play enough to take my game up another notch. I study Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (translation: I work with climate models and love clouds) at Princeton University. In 2016, I became a Ph.D. candidate and joined Team Millennium! I am extremely grateful to Millennium for supporting my pursuit of the sport I enjoy for competition, comradery, and just being outdoors (under the clouds!).

For over a decade, my most-thrown disc has been the Omega SuperSoft —I have always counted on its superior grip for putting as well as its ability to hold any approach line. My favorite aspect of Millennium’s portfolio is a wide selection of quality finesse drivers. I currently use the Polaris LS, JLS, Aquarius, and Aries for accurate lines of various shot shapes. When I received a Zero-G Quasar as a prize few years ago, I tried it simply because of its cool name (I am a science nerd). But soon, it became my favorite stable max distance driver due to its superior glide compared to its competitors. Both before and since I joined Team Millennium, quickly falling in love with new Millennium plastic I am exposed to has been a recurring pattern—one that I look forward to continuing to enjoy.

Richard Why

Gold Sponsorship

Tulsa, OK

Hi! My name is Richard Why, and I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I started playing disc golf in 2008 when a friend introduced me to the sport, I was hooked from there. The first disc I ever found while playing was a Millenium QJLS, which gave me a great start in the world of disc golf.

I moved from Advanced Men to Open Men at the beginning of 2012 and have since had multiple Top 5 finishes, along with a win at the 2012 Monkey Trap Open in Springdale, AR. What drew me to Millenium was the consistency of the plastic and the molds. I know what my discs are going to do with every throw, and that is a vital part of my game. I became a member of Team Millenium in 2013, and I'm looking forward to several great years to come.
